AgriZeroNZ is a world-first public-private partnership helping New Zealand farmers reduce biogenic methane and nitrous oxide emissions without compromising productivity or profitability. Established in 2023, the Joint Venture is co-owned by the New Zealand Government and major agribusinesses including Fonterra, a2 Milk, Rabobank, Silver Fern Farms, and others.

With $191 million committed over four years—matched dollar-for-dollar by government and industry—AgriZeroNZ invests in a portfolio of solutions such as vaccines, inhibitors, feed additives, methane-reducing boluses, improved pastures, and probiotics.

Focused on pasture-based grazing systems, the partnership aims to cut emissions by 30% by 2030, fast-tracking innovation, removing barriers, and enabling global impact through practical, scalable tools for farmers.
